Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney World's Magic Kingdom - Is it worth the Royal price tag?

Step right up, folks! Have you ever heard of the magical Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney World's Magic Kingdom? It's the place where all you wannabe royalty can ditch the rags and rock that Disney Prince or Princess look! But hold onto your wallets, because this enchanting transformation comes with a price tag ranging from $99 to $450! Is it a splurge fit for a king or queen, or just a royal rip-off?

The experience at the boutique begins with a warm welcome from the "Fairy God Mothers" upon entering the waiting area. You will receive a folder containing the available packages, empowering you to select the perfect option for you and your royalty aspirant. While the $99 package requires bringing your own attire or simply wearing the souvenir t-shirt, the higher-priced packages offer the opportunity to choose a dress from the shop, with prices ranging from $199 to $450 based on your selection of dress and accessories. Opting for the $199 experience (The castle package), my daughter and I enjoyed a stunning princess dress and one accessory of her choice (a wand). There was a delightful array of matching accessories available, including wands, jewelry, and shoes. The $450 package boasted a complete set of accessories to complement the outfit, along with the deluxe version of the dress. Truth be told, the difference between the standard and deluxe dress versions was minimal. For the Royal Princes, there are two packages available at $19.95 or $79.95.

No matter your budget, the rest of the experience is the same. Prepare to be swept off your feet by the enchanting experience that awaits you! You step into the dressing room where your very own "Fairy God Mother" works her magic to make sure your hair is perfect, clean and free of tangles, and ready for your grand reveal in front of the enchanted mirror! The excitement my daughter and I felt was beyond words as the mirror truly came alive before our eyes.

After paying for the experience, prepare to be whisked away to the castle, where a hidden door will guide you to a vibrant and enchanting section of the magical fortress. Here, a skilled stylist will oversee your majestic makeover fit for royalty, beginning with selecting the perfect hairstyle and regal hair accessories to make every child feel like true nobility. After that, get ready for the transformation to commence, while at the same time, other helpers will finish doing your child's makeup and nails. Finally, no experience is complete without a dash of glitter, a souvenir bag, and a sash to say that you were transformed at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

In response to my initial question, is it worth it? Absolutely, I would say yes without hesitation!

Here are some tips -

Book this experience at the 60 day mark - it fills up really quickly!
Book this experience either in the morning or mid-day - You will get the most out of the experience because your Prince or Princess will be able to wear their outfit all day. We were able to do our experience at 1.30 p.m. which ended up being a good time to take pictures after.
$99 version is a good experience for those on a budget - You can buy the dress before hand, from Target or Amazon to ensure the size of your dress is available and at the price point you want to pay. I would also check out www.shopdisney.com as they often run sales on outfits and accessories.
Photo pass pictures are taken during the transformation - During the experience a photographer will be taking pictures of your prince or princess enjoying their transformation.
Take your child to the restroom before your experience - The whole transformation takes about 1-2 hours. My daughter needed to use the restroom during the transformation and I was met with some hesitation by cast members, they are on a time crunch to get people through the experience.
The transformation is for guests age 3 years - 12 years old - I was a little frustrated by this as I know a lot of parents like to let their kids be kids, and even some adults would love this experience.
Only 2 people can accompany each child - There is limited space in the castle to watch the transformation, this can be hard for big groups.
A souvenir bag and sash is given to each child - One great thing is that the makeup, face gems, and nail polish are all opened new for each child and then given to the child as a token of their experience. In the bag there is also a cute necklace which was a welcomed surprise.
