If you want to start your day with a tropical twist, head over to Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort. It's like the breakfast jackpot - perfect for fueling up before tackling the Magic Kingdom madness. And let me tell you, the portions are massive, so come hungry! Oh, and did I mention they don't just do breakfast? Nope, they've got your back for lunch and dinner too. It's like the foodie gift that keeps on giving!

Getting to the resort is a breeze! If you're driving to Magic Kingdom, simply park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, skip all the lines, and take a leisurely walk to the Polynesian using the secret path for an expedited experience. For those opting for the bus, a ride to Magic Kingdom is in order, followed by a scenic trip on the resort monorail or a boat ride to the Polynesian. Kona Cafe awaits you on the lobby's second floor at the Polynesian Resort, nestled between the Ohana character dining experience, a quick-service stand, and the monorail station.

Waiting to check in at the host stand may seem a bit awkward due to the limited space in the pathway to the monorail. The restaurant's decor is simple and not overly impressive, resembling any typical restaurant. If you seek a fully immersive dining experience, this may not be the place for you. Nevertheless, appearances can be deceiving as the food here is truly exceptional.

The menu features a select offering of 8 core breakfast items, including standout dishes like the breakfast platter, macadamia nut pancakes, and Tonga Toast. I treated myself to the macadamia nut pancakes paired with bacon, and it was an absolute delight. These pancakes were impeccably light, fluffy, and satisfying, striking the perfect balance of sweetness. The macadamia nut butter and chunky fresh pineapple sauce served as a flawless accompaniment, rendering syrup unnecessary. Additionally, the generous serving of bacon on the side certainly did not disappoint. A truly indulgent and gratifying breakfast experience!

We couldn't resist ordering the amazing Polynesian breakfast platter! Picture this: a classic breakfast spread featuring eggs, potatoes, your favorite meat, a delightful breakfast pastry, and a mouthwatering mix of tropical fruits. And let's not forget the generous portions that will kickstart your day with a burst of flavor! The food was seasoned to perfection, making it the ideal choice for anyone craving a traditional meal. Simply delicious!

When it comes to kids, there is a good choice of options available to please even the most selective eaters. Trust me, I have firsthand experience! One delightful choice we made was the Mickey pancakes. These consist of two smaller pancakes for the ears and one large pancake for the face, served with two sides and a drink. We opted for bacon and fruit. The generous portions offered here are perfect for hearty eaters, making this the ideal spot for your child.

I've practically become a breakfast regular here! The food always hits the spot, and the portion sizes never fail to impress me. It's like they're saying, "Go big or go home!"

✨ Pro Tips to enhance your experience!

  • You can make an advance dining reservation here, but this is an easy reservation to get depending on your party size. You can usually even get reservations the morning of you desired dining day.

  • If you are using the Disney Dining plan, this is considered one table dining experience. I would save these for dinner (as dinner is usually more expensive) and spend cash on this dining experience.

  • They do have gluten free options, and can accommodate most allergies.

  • Plan to dine here on a Magic Kingdom Day. You can take the monorail directly to Magic Kingdom right outside the restaurant and skip the ticket and transportation center lines.

  • If you want to try a macadamia nut pancake, you can, simply order one on the side for only $5.50.
